Descriptif / Historique

With an experience of 14 years in Engineering, Consulting, Training, Technical Verification, Testing and Maintenance of Control-Command and Signalling systems, SAFERAIL is today the leader in its field in France.

Growing substantially since its start in 2003, SAFERAIL is set up in 3 sites : Nantes, Paris and Nanjing. Today the company has about 100 employees (technicians, engineers and experts). After having generated a turnover of 6,6 M Euros in 2015, SAFERAIL reached a turnover of 13 M € in 2016. SAFERAIL has opened up its capital to Bpifrance in 2014, who now encourages the development of SAFERAIL.

SAFERAIL's main customers are public or private infrastructure managers, and the industrial companies acting in the development and deployment of technical solutions for the railway control-command and signalling systems.

Specialised in high speed lines, conventional lines (conventional signalling and ETCS signalling), metro, tram-train, tramway, harbour railways and industrial railways projects, SAFERAIL has skills in all life cycle phases for Railway Control-Command and Signalling projects.

SAFERAIL is Member and Lead Contractor of the SRES Consortium



    - SAFERAIL is certified ISO 9001.
    - SAFERAIL is qualified by SNCF Réseau for Railway Signalling Contracts Management and Detailed Design.
    SAFERAIL is qualified on probation for Works and soon to be qualified for Signalling Design (all TSAE) and removal/installation/verification of railway signalling equipment.
    SAFERAIL has authorised personnel certificate for Safety Tasks Other Than Essential (TSAE), Staff Safety Officer (TES M), Signalling and Track Maintenance; Works (removal, installation, verification) on trackside devices ; Technical Verifications (TES D) and Testing (TES E).
    - SAFERAIL is an authorized qualified organisation (OQA) by the French Ministry of Transport for safety assessment missions on Control-Command and Signalling systems for urban guided.
    - SAFERAIL Academy is declared as a training organization by the DIRECCTE under the number 52 44 07 195 44 and is registered by the French Railway Safety Authority (EPSF) as Training Centre.


    - Nantes-Châteaubriant Line operated with Tram-Train rolling-stock (France)
    Playing an essential role on the line, SAFERAIL was responsible for : Costing, contracts and planning management for the overall CCS system - Basic design - Verification of detailed design - Supervision of works - Procurement management - Interlocking platform testing - ATS platform testing - Systems integration platform testing - Site testing - Systems integration site testing (ATS, interlockings, level crossings, telecommunication network, computer-based maintenance system, control-command of overhead equipment, control-command center for the power system) - Maintenance during line testing with trains - Engineering of the 8 interlocking specific Safety Cases - Co-Design with SNCF experts of the Line operation regulations - Participation in commissioning of the Line with SNCF
